About this Course

This three-day workshop is designed for people who have some training and experience in using compassion focused therapy having attended either a two or three day training course; are familiar with the basic evolutionary model; the role of affiliative emotion in threat regulation, distinctions between shame and guilt and competitive versus caring motivational systems and the dimensional nature of our minds.

The workshop provides opportunities including:

*deeper understanding into the nature of compassion

*working within the therapeutic relationship

*developing the compassion focused formulation

*the nature of functional analysis

*using functional analysis to work with self-criticism and shame

*explaining and exploring multi-self and the interaction between threat-based emotions such as anger, anxiety and sadness

*how to use chair work to engage in different aspects of the self

*ways of deepening the concepts of the compassionate self and compassionate image

*ways of working with the fear and resistance to compassion

FAQs

Can I attend the Advanced Clinical Skills without having completed an Introduction to CFT?

This workshop is aimed at those who have a good grounding in the foundations of Compassion Focused Therapy, so we do require that you have completed an Introductory workshop beforehand (please check the topics covered in the Introduction to CFT workshop on our Training Pathway). We generally recommend leaving at least six months between completing an Introductory workshop and attending the Advanced in order to give yourself time to practise with your clients, as this workshop will be aimed to helping you to build on your skills.

Introductory workshops held by other organisations will be accepted, so long as they are at least two days in length, include the topics covered in our Introduction to CFT course, and are led by a recognised CFT trainer. For any queries about this, please email hello@compassionatemind.co.uk

Will I get a certificate of attendance?

All attendees will received a certificate upon completion of the course. This will be emailed to you, so please ensure that your details are correct on registration.

Our staff will take a register on each day of the workshop and any non-attendees will not receive a certificate. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please get in touch at hello@compassionatemind.co.uk

What if I am unable to attend?

If you find you are unable to attend this course, please email our admin team via hello@compassionatemind.co.uk as soon as possible. You will be given the option to transfer to another course (within 12 months). Refunds are available if cancellation occurs no less than one month before the start of the course, although we will consider exceptional circumstances.

I can't attend live, can I watch the recordings after the live broadcast instead?

Due to the interactive nature of this workshop, and that it will contain a lot of group work, we feel you'd be missing too much of it's value if you cannot participate live. So, we have requested that all delegates attend live.
